did you say ONE tire? you better be on a bike

anyway, the end-all cheapest source of tires is tirerack.com. i've never been able to find a b&m retailer that sells a better performance tire for less. their shipping is pretty fast too, distribution center is in reno or something.

car tires should be replaced two at a time
|Thrax|
especially since awd is dependant on tire rotation speed in relative to the active differentials in the car.

Subaru recommends replacing left and right at the same time if the tread depth varies too much between sides. I dont remember the exact tread depth.

Otherwise you could have a new tired shaved to meet the other tires.

But, why dont you check nasioc first, people need to get rid of in their garage all the time.

they are comp tires with virtually 0 wear rating. that doesnt mean they are expensive.

xenpro, what the hell are you buying 22inch pirelli pzeros?

either that or you either drive a:
corvette with the f1 runflats
viper with 345/19's

:) j/p

R compound tires are expensive.

wear ratings mean nothing. the wear rating is all relative to the test tire which is not a standards based tire. its just a standard tire that the manufacturer being researched uses.

rich: yeah i know. thats why i want a nothing tire. i hate the Potenza RE92's. they suck. im looking at getting some Toyos or Yokos since i can get them at that site for a good price.

thrax: im aware of the tread wear thing..this flat has made me just go get 4 new tires but i just want a tire that can work for me for about 3 or 4 weeks. i dont like running on the spare.

Wear rating: Where did I say treadwear has anything to do with price? I was giving you a spec on the tire.

$162 is expentive? R compounds are cheap because people burn through them...
The Kumho victoracers are even a decent tire for the money (for an R)
If this wasnt my DD and I had money to blow i'd run R compouds all the time.

In comparison the OEM re070's that come stock on the STI used to be $250 a tire, only 235/17 $162 is cheap to have grip up the ying yang and drive to the track.

Ok, just get one tyre for now.

never said wear ratings have anything to do with price. just that wear ratings are useless when comparng different brands.

and even if 162 is cheap for the factory tires its still rediculous when a higher performance tire is significantly cheaper.

and yeah if i had money to constantly buy new tires id run r compounds too...but not till i had better suspension.
