whenever i delete something from the library it deletes it from the ipod shuffle. so how i do i stop it from doing that??? i like having my library empty.
my gf and i bought an ipod shuffle for my gfs mom for mothers day. i already have an 80gb ipod video and my gf has a 20 gb ipod. now ive never had problems with either ipod, but this shuffle is being annoying as .
can anyone help? i really dont want to keep a bunch of songs in my library. grrrrrr
or can anyone recommend any other programs other than itunes with which i can manage the ipods? i have ipod access but i only use that to copy songs from the ipod to my computer.
thanks in advance. |

well thats the ty part, theres no option. on my 80gb i have the "auto sync ipod" setting unchecked.
on the shuffle theres only "only update checked songs"... ive tried it both checked and unchecked and they both yield the same result.

fixed.
the solution is to stop the ipod service (so it doesnt detect when you plug it in) and ONLY use itunes when you want to buy music ITMS. otherwise use windows media player, winamp, or some other substitute. |

that is the answer | Not the answer. All you need to do is delete the file, but keep there reference to the non-existent file in the library.
It sees the reference and doesn't check to see if the file is still there on the computer. |
