"Babel"

Member of the household was just watching that new Brad Pitt movie "Babel". I was interested to see a scene where deaf girl is at a club in Japan on ecstasy.

I've seen a few movies that attempt to portray drugs and the club scene and fail miserably (though I still haven't got round to watching "It's All Gone Pete Tong").

However, the scene struck me as being remarkably spot on with it's depiction of the average club, and a crowd on drugs.

The music, the expressions of the drugged punters, the interplay of lights; almost exactly as I can remember it from my last club experience.

Though I've only half been paying attention, it seems like a very well thought out and meticulously constructed film, unlike most American movies. May have to watch it.

I loved all Iñárritu films I've seen so far.

You should definitely check out 21 Grams and Amores perros if you already haven't.

What the point of taking E at a club if you're deaf :conf:

Hard of hearing people can still feel the bass. I lived in a hard of hearing dorm for a semester, and it was the loudest dorm I've ever lived in.

Babel is a great movie. The weaving of seemingly unrelated events reminds me of Lost.

*slaps forehead*

Babel is much better than Lost. The cinematography in the film is spectacular, as is the score. The concept is fairly original, and well executed. Well worth seeing if you like movies that make you sit back and think.

i enjoyed the movie it was pretty good. as for the rave scene thought it was interesting...makes you wonder what it would be like to be deaf in a club like that...or just deaf in general...

One of the best club scenes I've ever seen in a movie and I thought it was a great portrayal of the challenges faced by being death.

I can relate with the deaf Japanese chick because I show my vagina to everyone and still can't get laid.
