true, although Blizzard's cinematics are always top notch |

2-3 months still to wait! :( gotta move out of the house i bought and then in with a mate. then i can afford to get the net. new patch for supcom coming 23rd May!

Most of my favourite games are old...GTA 2, Unreal Tournament, Doom 2, Starcraft, Age Of Empires.
None of them had decent graphics, even when they were released, but they focussed heavily on GAMEPLAY.
A game can have the prettiest, most up to date graphics it wants, but if it's not fun to play, then it's utterly useless.
I've played heaps of newer games, like GTA 3, Doom 3 etc, and they just plain suck compared to their predecessors, because the game play it lacking.
Personally, I think Blizzard is clever giving their games slightly out of date graphics. This ensures that they instantly have a larger market when the game goes on sale, because you don't need a brand new, ridiculously fast computer to play. My computer at home is a dismal 800mHZ, and teh graphics card is a piffling 4mb.
I'll be happy with the new Starcraft game as long as they keep teh Protoss Carriers. :p
It would be good if they added the ability for multiple probes/drones/scvs to build at the same time, it always annoyed me that you couldn't speed up build time. |

doom3 was a much better game than either of its predecessors. it had twice the atmosphere and 10 times the scares. oh, and original doom had the best graphics on the market when it was released ;)
but youre right, graphics are hardly the be-all and end-all, i for one would be happy with warcraft era graphics from SC2 as long as they actually made some improvements and innovations, which (at this early stage) i dont think they have. the same, tired rock-paper-scissors instant-hit gamplay mechanics that we've had for the last decade.
blizzard have enough $$$ to have made something new and brilliant, but all it seems theyre doing is re-hashing old games with shinier engines. im too old to be suckered in by yet another clone. |

looked at the Starcraft II site today, and the graphics look great to me :p :D. But to be honest, I'm not really a gamer. The only games I've played the last couple of years are Pro Evolution Soccer and ... Starcraft :D. Still love that game, so I'm relly looking forward to the release of SC II
I guess there isn't any news available on pc requirements for this one? |
