Can someone tell me if +/- 0.00 point on a cdj is supposed to be the same as +/- 0.00 on a turntable?

Main reason I'm asking is because there's alot of tracks I have on vinyl that I used to have to pitch up, but find I have to pitch down on a cdj. :conf:
nefardec
not sure but it could be a problem with motor speed on either device

Could it be because lots of my older mp3's could have been ripped from vinyls, and whoever ripped them, had their pitch jacked way up?

For example, my copy of Universal Nation '99. My vinyl is pitched at 0.00 and it sounds great! But my mp3 I have to pitch it down to almost -8.00, or else it plays waaaaay too fast!! :conf:

Yeah man, vinyl rips almost always have some type of tempo issues, especially if it was ripped from a shoddy TT.

Here's a suggestion: instead of moaning about it on here try buying your ing tracks legally. Problem solved

Wow dude, if he already has the vinyl and then rips it himself or downloads a ripped version, wtf? Given the Vinyl is also 9 times the price at least wtf is your problem?

Eeesh, jumping on people is so overrated broski, take it easy on the roid rage.

Sure you weren't recording at 45RPM instead of 33?

That problem sounds really weird. Hopefully its something simple and not expensive like your motor going bad.

Here's a suggestion... Go f*ck yourself. I do buy my tracks, but if I get some for free, so be it!! And as someone else already said... I have these tunes on vinyl already, where I paid 20x the price

I didn't do the ripping. I can just tell by listening to my mp3's now, and listening to my old sets where I normally pitch tracks up, but have to pitch down on cdj's to get the same tempo.
I think it's probably just careless ripping, but that's pretty much why I asked in the first place... just to make sure :D

I did think of that afterwards & regretted steaming in.

Apologies to Mortyman.

I'd have thought +/- 0.00 should identical between different models of vinyl decks and CDJ decks but then the steroids have probs muddled my brain ;) :p

I noticed this on some tracks as well. For instance i noticed my vinyl copy of analogue feel plays much faster at 0% then the mp3 version I bought from beatport. I dont think its really a big deal tho.
