Philby
there's a thread on this in music discussion. also richard durand has done 'hey boy hey girl' by chemical brothers. it's as if they are playing a game, who can put out the most remixes of old tracks in a year or something

making remakes will always happen,
why because the classics may not fit in with todays style...
ie- electrogash

as for tyas he does get a bit carried away with his remixes but at the end of the day his the only one to play them, probably makes it easier for him to mix in during his sets...

havent heard this new remix but one i do love is the rework of carl b vs breaking benjamin- diary of jane
if he plays this on friday night i will be very happy :D

why does that even matter what today's style is? that's bull. classic tunes are classic because something about them stuck in people's minds one way or another. continually re-doing them is cheap and lazy and a bull way of trying to cash in on other people's success. why do you need to get another bunch of people every few years in some cases to do them again? because they mean something to them and want to share their "unique vision" of that tune or some crap? how many times has led zeppelin reworked stairway to heaven? how many times has ac/dc updated a long way to the top?

that's even more bull than the first part. if you can't even mix tunes without changing the beats or re-working them for yourself then don't bother. it's not even like he's doing something new! paul van dyk was doing this 6 years ago. "holy crap look its a pvd/sean tyas rework of that mad song! i wonder what its like!??! oh wait hes just changed the kick" what the hell is the point??

LOL philby nailed it.. and ps jolz, its pretty weak if someone has to remix a track to "fit into their style".. oh thats right a set full of tracks that all sound the same as each other right down the drum samples.

now we're really exploring the variety of life =)

i know its weak but thats what tyas does

and phil look at insomnia's remixes over time, original will still own over all of them
last year sasha done one
this year some gash housey one
next year someone will do another one, at the end of the day classics will be remixed and i dont really have a problem with them being done so.
You either like them or hate that, i may like 20% of them and hey its good to finally hear that tune that you have always loved with a new twist & to hate the newer remix ;)

i bet half the people here havent even heard the vdm original tune, so its up to them to hunt it down and listen to it to compare how much sean has messed with it
