To play a melody after hearing it once is easy, not the entire song.

As with any neurological disorder there is always something that makes up for the lack of social inhibition or a derivative thereof. It is the human way of making this "right". Over the course of ones life living with such ailments it is amazing on how well they cope. Hellen-keller is a prime example, sure she flipped out once in a while but was very intellegent in a sense she could use her other senses to precieve the world.

Darwinism may or may not have killed off these types of ppl but we as a human species have basically nullified any affect that this theory has with medical research and knowledge. Before the dawn of modern medicine anyone demonstrating un-normal behavior was either considered to be possessed and/or deamed a heretic and killed or admitted to an asylum. Now we have a better understanding on how the mind and body operate and adapt under certain conditions. Who knows maybe all the ailments in the world that we believe are abnormalities is evolution kicking in to make us better.

especially since i work at a school for autistic children and i think they are the cutest things in the world:).

it's so sad at times but that's truly amazing that someone autistic can memorize all that!

Autistic people have some of the most powerful abilities on the planet. This is good information for managers, because these abilities can be very useful to a corporation. Utterly insane abilities, such as advanced mathematics, memorization abilities, the ability to store and handle information on an advanced level.

I think many autistic children see socializing as boring, well, when they can do so much in their own head, what use is humanity? It's a waste of time to them.

Me personally, I have seen both worlds. Humanity has it's function of extrodinary emotional highs that are unlike any drug, and autistics demonstrate an the extrordinary use of the mind to organize and store information. The trick is to find balance, and emotions are more difficult to control.

The wierd thing is, even though I was diagnosed as autistic, there are ways to channel the emotions of others and absorb them. So I believe autistic people can socially intergrate by spending time channeling other people. NLP rapport techniques have evolved recently, and they've made some startling discoveries about just how potent Rapport really is and it's effects on the brain. I do rapport all the time now, I find it quite, stimulating. Even TV shows work with rapport. Which is why I am so capable of forming a rational point. (Too much House MD) But House is my hero, and the show is the most intelligent show ever written.

what type of autism were u diagnosed with??

i deal with preschool and school age children that have PDD. I'm not to sure about rapport??

Is that a technique to help with autism. Cuz the school I work for does ABA.

edit- I work in the school office setting up home based services for children, and taking in requests for students to come to the school.. I don't actually teach them.
