That's it, I'm buying a DS.

I did it :)
Bought FF3 and Castlevania: Portal of Ruin to pass the time until I invest in somewhat less scrupulous means of attaining software - but I couldn't be happier with my purchase than I am already.
So Yan (and any other DS'ers), what are the "must play" games in your opinion? |

Trauma Center
and Elite Beat Agents (Yan says the japanese version is better, but he's got the japan bias!) |

Cool - was definitely going to pick up Trauma Center, and Myra really wants "Elite Beat Agents," so we'll probably pick that up as well on your recommendation.
And I don't trust anything that crazy Yan says about Japan - I still think he's trying to get me to defect to the east. :p |

:stongue:
My parcel with Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Tamashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (EBA 2) should be arriving any day now... (EDIT: Just arrived right now. lol) Honestly, though. Ouendan and EBA are both amazing games with great gameplay and hilarious "storylines". The only problem I have is that the songlist for EBA just doesn't do it for me. :( If anything, get both Ouendan's (via Play-Asia or somewhere else) AND EBA.
So. What's good?
For one, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Better than PoR by some and then more. Highly recommended.
Pick up the first Phoenix Wright. Borrow or rent the second one (PW: Justice for All).
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is a really good game, in my opinion... BUT, people give it mixed reviews. Unfortunately, there's no replay value there. :/
Mario Kart DS. Own it.
Big puzzle fan? Tetris DS and Meteos (regular or Disney Magic) will NOT do you wrong.
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl should be looked in if you like those kind of games. I'm really enjoying it.
Big Brain Academy is better than Brain Training, by far. Plus, it's cheap! Pick it up.
Cooking Mama is different. Definitely fun, though. For $20, why not?
Sonic Rush. Best Sonic game since the DC titles. Seriously. You need it if you love fast paced Sonic games (very reminiscent of StH Genesis titles).
Trauma Center: Under the Knife will test you like no other. If you want to play a challenging game, look in the direction of this Atlus title.
Super Princess Peach. And not because Peach is one of my favorite characters from ANY game. Okay... Maybe cuz of that. But it is an awesome game and definitely DIFFERENT from the normal Mario titles. Check it out.
Konami Classics: Arcade Hits. Retro at some of its best. Contra and Gradius are worth it, enough. There are about 13 more titles to play. If this is your shtick, do yourself a favor and purchase.
You asked for my 2 cents but I gave you... 2... 4... 20... Well, either way, it's definitely less than what you'll be paying if you decide to get ALL the games listed. Still, congratulations on the purchase and enjoy your time with the DS. (On a side note, I finally got my cousin to pick one up for himself about 3 days ago. He's also really happy with his purchase. Best part? You can use Pokemon D/P as free VoIP if you're near a wireless signal!)
Did you get the pink one? :gsmile: |

Thanks for the advice guys! :)
I'm absolutely loving FF3 - it's basically feeling a lot like playing FF7 again, which is making me pretty happy. Just got to the Tower of Owen, so I'm still pretty early on in the game.
Definitely feels like an old school game even though it looks brand new.
I'm going to pick up copies of Dawn of Sorrow and New SMB later today for $10 a pop :) |
