This is not necessarily a DJ booth setup issue... but audio ground loops and video ground loops come from the same source.
I recently purchased a Samsung 940NW 19" widescreen LCD to use with my laptop when I am working at my desk. There are little horizontal bars (very faint and only noticeable on darker backgrounds) moving rapidly up and down the screen. So, I unplug the AC power from the laptop and the flickering stops. I plug the AC power back in, it starts again.
The monitor and laptop are plugged into the same surge protector, and I have tried on multiple outlets. It appears to be a ground loop coming from somewhere... but I can't figure out where.
Does anyone have experience with eliminating ground loops your dj setups? Any thoughts or ideas?
