does anybody else have any problems with windows vista being slow. i just bought a new computer and it is very slow.

also, what can cause such thing and how can you make it faster?

thanks in advance.

it does seem a little slower than XP pro, even on a dual-core.

i use Vista Manager to keep it running as smooth as possible.

wow.
you really need another 1.5 gigs of ram.

your virtual memory is doing overtime . . .

I have no issues what-so-ever. I have a dual core and a nice setup.

My PC is rated as a 5.4 on their 'experience' meter... so I assume that is why?

SATA1 or 2 drives, high speed ram and a beefy gfx card make for a seamless experience IMO.

I've seen Vista to be quite a hog on many systems. What are your system specs?

Are you serious?

I have Dual Core and Vista is faster performance-wise than XP.

i am comparing apples to oranges, so it may be a little skewed.

vista ultimate on M1710 core2duo 2.33GHz, 2G ram, 945MB, 160G sata 3.0 HD, 7950 go VC.
xp pro on desktop build, amd 2.0GHz, 1G ram, a8v-e deluxe MB, 240G sata 1.5 HD (set at), 6800gt VC.

in some ways the performance seems very similar.
considering the vast difference in tech specs,
i blame it on vista. . .

tell me of your experience.

On a side note, MS has announced Vista SP1 (beta) for November 12th.

Still haven't tried Vista yet, as I'm still stuck with my 800 MHz calculator. Can't report on buggyness / etc.

Vista does more harm than good. Wait another year - at least.
