Well I have been looking to get myself a DXM06 Mixer. I have just started Djing in the last 2 months or so..

I like the DXM06 because it gives me a few effects.

any other suggestions? a mixer that has a few effects, but in the same price range??

any advice would be great!

Perfect mixer for a beginning dj. Other then the Gemini I was first using with no EQs, this is the first real mixer I have used since djing at home and I still have and use it. Makes mixing on anything "better" a dream and that much easier to mix with. The DXM06 owns!

im a begining dj also and its the mixer i bought (was helped out buying equipment with the owner of the only record shop in my city, he could see i was true to the music and loved trance, i was buying tonnz of records b4 i had decks to learn to mix on, was just using my old mans very old TT lol i love the few effects you can play around with with the dxm06. i like that i can listen to both channels on the headphones and fade between the 2 channels, helps out when im trying to beatmatch, love playing with the eq kill switches too, kill the bass every second beat (for a few bars, not too long or it gets anoying) leading up to a build up to some tunes then bring it back in just b4 the track goes nutz lol (or do all mixers have those functions?)

also its a gr8 2 channel mixer so you could always upgrade to a 4 channel if u end up using 2 cd decks and 2 TT decks, great beginers mixer :) i love mine!

Learn to beatmatch first, forget the Fx.They won't make you sound cool or give you any skills, but distract you at best. Just 2c of advice : that numark mixer has reliability issues, like 95% of the numark range.
Same price? Go Ecler

Sure, a dxm 06 owns any gemini mixer. Like any other brand (that wasn't too much of a challenge to pull off)

I guess I'm one of the lucky 5% then...

It's a good beginner mixer. Nothing really wrong with it other than cue volume is pretty low but perfect mixer for a beginner at home

I noticed that the other day (coming off of my DJM 500) before I packaged up my DXM06 and shipped it to the thread starter. I have to have the cue gain at about 3/4 to really hear the cued track over my monitors.

To the person that questioned the reliability of the DXM06, explain why there are so MANY people on this board that like/love their DXM06s. Haven't even heard of one breaking. I've heard of faders starting to leak after extended and heavy use, but the crossfader is replaceable on the DXM06.

The only actual complaint I have heard besides the cue gain is where the headphone jack is located which may make it hard to reach if the mixer were set into a table or put into a case.
