Ok had vista for a while now (had to get a new comp, old one caught fire :stongue: long story) and i haven't been able to make my M Audio Oxygen 8V2 work with it obviously i need a vista driver but M audio doesn't offer one, have tried contacting them a few times but never hear anything back (which i thought was weird because usually they have been pretty good with that before) so i was wondering if anyone knows any way to make it work or when a driver will be released for it.
Thnx

Noone (probably not even M-Audio) will ever be able to tell you when you'll get Vista drivers for an M-Audio product ("done when it's done").... but I wouldn't be suprised if drivers for most of their products come out towards the end of the year (Oct onwards), just a hunch.
I use an Oxygen (V1), as well as an FireWire Audiophile and was able to use both without problems in Vista using the XP drivers for each.
Needless to say I've gone back to XP, as Vista pissed me off too much (compatability problems with various programs, errors here and there), and I'm much happier and will wait till SP1 + drivers for ALL my hardware have been released.
I suggest you either do the same, or learn to live with any problems you might encounter, it is a brand new OS afterall, not exactly the ideal formula for a PC you want to actually do anything prodctive on (IMHO).. |

| thnx for the reply, yeh i figured i would have to give up a few things for a while with vista, but overall i have been pretty happy with it actually, only things i have had problems with is this and red alert 2 :p will just have to wait for the drivers then. |

How exactly do you a vista?
But yes. Vista is a new operating system. And it is thus filled with doody poopness.
Patience. I am excited for 64bit support, since 64bit was baked right in with Vista.
Wait till the end of the year. Then buy it. And then strip it down of all the flashy graphics and "security" features. Then go hog wild.

They finnish with updates for xp some time around 2009 so hopfully vista will have all the bugs sorted out.
I bought two brand new pc's that came with vista installed and both computers used a lot of memory.
Xp used 125 megs doing nothing, but vista used 600-800 megs:eyes:
Both systems have four gig ram and can run vista, but i took vista off and installed xp becouse of the driver issues.
I will wait till theyt bring out drivers before i reinstall vista.
It's good software apart from the drivers and the memory and cpu it likes to eat. |

actually I bought my lappy with Vista...got rid of it about two days later...now I have XP and I am in love with it...
Vista is full of security (which is annoying) and full of flashy bull graphics (which is more annoying because it's so damn resource hungry)
so if you want to save your nerves...please do yourself a favour and install XP |

m-audio has a list and a newsletter you can sign up for to tell you when each prodcut gets the vista drivers...
right now i think only 3-4 of their products do |
