I recommend not taking anything Ishkur says seriously. |

| Paul Oakenfold's Tranceport cd is most people's introduction to trance it seems. It's light on vocals and is mostly just an assortment of the biggest trance records from 8 years ago - considered by some to be trance's peak. |

No, I'm serious. Look at his exact descriptors:
-Dave Clarke
-No vocals
-No cheese
-Not psy
Seriously, the best suggestion is to listen to trance made before 1997. |

He'll probably find the stuff made before 1997 cheesier than what was made after 1997. |

Actually, L.S.G.'s The Black Album is probably his best bet.

i'm going to suggest to stay away from anything labeled as trance or widely known as classic trance. every 'trance' that that i've heard has never been entrancing. the only tracks i've heard thus far, that even approach that an entrancing state are labeled as acid and techno. many tracks have entrancing elements, but in my opinion they fall short, which has been a dissappointment to me, and a waste of time and money. i'm conforted by my belief that i've just been only scratching the surface, and that one day i'll come across some true trance.
Mo-Tune - Psychowaves [1994] acid
Voodoo Child - Demons [1994] techno |

planet e
pv (planet vision sublabel)

use www.discogs.com to see their extensive catalogues.
these recommendations are based on your dave clarke mention, not your request for trance, these are techno for the most part.
