To upgrade or not to upgrade... That is the question.

Hi!
Im soon going to be moving and I’ve got some decisions to make…
I currently live in Israel and next year I’m gonna be studying at Boston College!
Im really excited and all but I don’t know what to do with my gear…
I own 2 CDJ200s and a DJM300.
They work perfectly, but I’ve got a few questions I need answered before I can choose what to do…
Basically the CDJ200s are great, and in my eyes I don’t see anything else I could use apart from “scratching” and total VBR mp3 support. So really im wondering should i sell them and get something else in that price range with those two features (if there are any of course, and that’s where you lot come in hehe) or keep them and wait till an actual upgrade to something more expensive and better.
The DJM300 does the job, but I can’t help but wonder how much better/useful the new DJM400 is… Let’s look at it in 2 categories: new features/general mixing. The new features seem really fun but I have no clue how useful they really are. As for how good “it sounds” (or however you’d compare the djm300’s abilities to the djm400), it seems it’s better “sounding” but that’s just what I’ve been reading here and there… So really I need everyone’s help on knowing whether or not I should upgrade my mixer…
I think that’s as clear as I can make it at 5am haha.
Thanks in advance everybody!

| i would just upgrade the mixer imo. why mess with a good thing with the 200s? i would keep them, and until you really feel that you need to upgrade, just keep using them. unless you have the cash to buy something better at the current moment |

+1. I'd just upgrade the mixer. There is supposedly a huge jump in physical build and sound quality between the 300 and 400. I love my 400, but am thinking of upgrading to an 800 actually. If you're interested in a 400, PM me. |

All in all i have 4 possibilities:
1 - Keep everything
2 - Sell DJM300 and buy DJM400 in the US.
3 - Sell everything and get another brand WITH scratching/VBR support + matching mixer.
4 - Sell everything and upgrade to the equivalent of CDJ800's and matching mixer (not really an option since i lack the funds but it's still out there)
What do y'all think? |

| i dunno how the electrical plugs are in israel, but i'd imagine they're different than in usa. that's one thing worth thinking about when deciding what you do. i really don't see much point in upgrading from the cdj-200's though if you don't need scratching. i'd upgrade the mixer though. i used to have a djm-300 and i think it sucks. i just didn't like it at all. |
