I'm interested in mixing mp3's on my PC and was wandering which is the best software for this??
I know Ableton seems to be the leader in this department so i'll try that, but any other suggestions? |

You'll find out which is the best by testing them all out. I have used VirtualDJ for a long time now, you could probably check it out. And then there's Traktor, MixMeister etc. which you can try out too. You can find some other names here too: http://www.hitsquad.com/
And of course, there's been a lot of threads about this same thing already. |

There are two categories of dj mixing software:
1) Software that is in fact a virtual turntable and you can use it to mix LIVE.
In this category the most known programs are Virtual DJ , Traktor , Virtual Dj Studio, Atomix Mp3, Mixvibes, PC-DJ etc
2) Software that is used to make mixes by editing the waveform of each track.
Here we have Ableton, Mixmeister, Acid Pro, Adobe Audition (Cool Edit) and so on.
Many of the programs of the second category are also used to make live mixes e.x Ableton and Mixmeister
Now, from the first category I would recommend you to use Traktor because is near to real djing. Ableton is the king of the second category , it's a proffesional tool that is used by well known djs like Armin etc.. |
