Slicing Up A Solid Mix Into Tracks...

One problem I'm facing when trying to mix demo's and just around and make cd's for friends is I record my sets using winamp and stream to my computer at 192/44 mp3... leaving me with a single 60-80 minute file. They get pissed if they want to skip to like the third to last track and have to hold fast forward for 2 minutes on a cd solid with only one track. Does anyone know of any programs (besides just decoding to a wav file and then manually chopping the file up and encoding them into tracks) or anything that would help me slice this up?
How do you guys go about recording your stuff? The machine I have in my room sucks so I'm not sure it can handle an 80 minute recording in Cool Edit Pro. |

| U could try using cool edit... or easy cd creator (and nero, aswell, i believe) have the option of splitting tracks... cool edit is tedious... but at least u can hear it... with the burning progs... you have to know exactly what time the tracks end/begin |

Called MP3 Splitter, I think it will do what ur after, doesn't leave any gaps.
Just make sure that when u burn a CD, write it "Disc at Once" as opposed to "Track at Once". This way, you'll eliminate the laser turning on and off on your CDR, and lose the gaps between the tracks. |

what i do, is make a .cue file, and burn it with CDRwin w/ DAO (Disk at once).. it is easy to skip through your own mix, jot down the time of the next track, and place all of those into a cue sheet. then when you burn a cd from a .cue with CDRwin , it will split those tracks up. If your cd player that you are using to listen to them supports cd text, the names of the tracks will appear also..
