I agree...I feel that the only reason to be in a serious relationships (prior to being ready to marry) is to gain experience and knowledge in interacting with a person on an intimate scale. Once you've gained that experience...and you're not ready to marry...there's really no point of doing anything except casually dating and making friendships. |

I like that, nicely written. It get's easier to relate to that statement the older you get. Even at 21 I can totally see where I am at according to that. |

Aren't you only like 19? What kind of serious relationship could you have had? Dating someone in high school does not count as a "serious relationship".
And two months, isn't what I'd call being "together" with someone. |

There's been some problems lately and I might get divorced.. I dunno, long story, complicated, but in any case we're still together and we've resolved that it's fine whatever happens.
At least we've made it one year so far... :toothless |

Casual dating and friendships can't give the rush and intimacy a long-term relationship can ;) |

Yessir. But I'm not trying to make it out to be like I've had 128421 serious relationships and I have allll this knowledge. I don't even count anyone from high school as really an "ex".
I just personally think that's a really negative way to get into something with someone. I met Jason three and a half years ago! I didn't think it was going to be a forever-type thing, but if I had dated him casually... we probably wouldn't have stayed together, and I would have lost what I have now.
Maybe it's just me, but if I date someone, I date someone. |

totally. I tried that but she decided to find someone else too because of the distance between us. If only she'd have had the restraining order lifted but it's her tough now. she's engaged (to about the 30th guy she's "dated" since and my ass is growing fatter, single, but at least I have a little bit of money :p |
