Ableton Live question

Hi, I was using a demo of Ableton Live 5, and I'm wondering how you can kill the bass in the outgoing track at exactly the same moment you unkill the bass in the incoming track. It seems that you can only manipulate effects when they are the active window?

map the kills to a key...

Its a shame Ableton has become such a fad, too many n00bs using it now.

I know I know thats a mean thing to say but jebus
nefardec
yeah seriously

this would take like 20 seconds to figure out max if you would think about it before asking.

Uninstall the demo then try never using Ableton again. That should solve any problems you have and may have in the future.

Have you done the tutorials which come with Ableton? One of them shows you a very, very basic run through of how to DJ with live, I think it covers the kill switches in there.

If in doubt in future, read the manual mate. ;)

Yes I know about assigning the kills to a key. I use Traktor dj studios and thats what i'm used to. However, I was trying out the demo of Live. i've assigned the kills to keys, but they don't seem to work for some reason. Could this be because its a demo version?

Try searching "keyboard mapping" in the guide. I believe the demo is limited to 4 midi/audio tracks.
