| Just wondering if any of you could tell me about how popular trance is around where you are, any country, any city. Specifically, do they play it on the radio often? Or do people prefer hip hop? I live in NH USA where all our radio stations play the same 20 current popular songs and some hip hop and that's IT! ne1 have it better than this? tnx... |

Frankfurt Germany, HR-XXL has a 'Clubnight' every weekend, which is trance/ techno style music
then they have a show called 'Pitchcontroller' which is basically an interview with a DJ for about 1 hour -with the DJ spinning some tracks- followed by a 1hr long liveset.
Worcester, MA:
yeah, right :D |

Toronto used to have Foxy 88.5 , once in a while you'd hear something decent, but for the most part it was pure euro cheese. but it was the only option seeing as how ALL the other stations insisted on having cRap and Bubble Gum Pop on nearly 24/7. Occasionally there's something on 103.5 that I can stomach, but I'll usually just listen to sports or news or MOJO.
I think Europe's the only place with decent stations. Oh and LA has grooveradio.com, that has a stream. I knew and talked regularly to a DJ who used to fill in there on live stream from time to time, cool guy. |

I live in Gainesville, Florida. There is only one station here that does any techno at all, much less trance.
Kiss105.3 has a 4 hour session every Sunday night that plays local techno music. very little trance is played though. It's not all that well arranged. But it's something, I guess :( |

My local radio "dance" station plays euro. They are giving that Autobus/Omnibus song alot of airplay. Ewwwwwwwww
They do broadcast live from clubs on Fri/Sat night which is usually good (DJ dependant of course). |

For Chi-town:
92.7 FM (it if even exists anymore). They mainly play "euro" type stuff though, some house, and they have a Thunderpuss show (::shudder::)
rating: crap
9.63 FM. A pop station in the day, but on Friday and Saturday nights (last I checked), they had Eurodance type stuff. Actually I like some eurodance, but still, just not enough.
rating: crappier |

In New York...there is 92.7 Long Island Radio. On Monday nights, they have a two hour set of mainly trance. The music is pretty good
they usually play all of my requests. The two hour set is usually put together well. |
