forget about refills for drum sounds and fx.
get vengeance esential club sounds vol 1 and 2
At least that way if/when you outgrow reason, you can still use those sounds in your new sequencer. |

can vengeance esential club sounds vol 1 and 2 be used with reason? |

Yeah, for sure mate. You can use any sound file with reason.
But refills can only be used within reason, so I dont see the point of getting something that has limits.
I am currently using VEC volume 2 in the redrum. I rewire the redrum into abelton live, as i still think it's one of the best drum machines you can use, the possibilities you get with a bit of creative routing are practicaly endless.
If you want seriously kick ass drum samples you realy cant go past VEC 2. |

True. but atleast with Refills you get alot of synth patches instead of wav files, which sound so pitched. |

awsome guys big thanks, the kick drums and generaly most of the percussion in reason seems to be really lacking, but i do enjoy the redrum quite a bit. i will check out vec 1 and 2 right away!! :gsmile: |

Good point, that is what refills ARE good for. However lowski doesn't want synth patches, he wants drum samples.
Lowski: check your PM's. |

yes mainly drums(kicks) but i really could use some nice synths. especialy some crisp fat saws. that were popular in trance a few years ago. ive been looking through my refills for like half an hour and still cant find the right sound , its driving me nuts!! i will check my pm thanks |

Yeah, this IMO is where reason falls over. The synths. They arent as good as what you can get as a VST.
This is why i rewire reason through ableton live, you still can use whatever refills, samples etc but can also apply any vst fx or synth. |
