I was never really into Tiesto, Ferry, Armin, etc back then either, but I'm just saying, they became all mainstream within the past 5 years. I used to love Marco V, PVD, Johan Gielen, Picotto and so many more (but I'm not into their style anymore). My best friend used to burn me CD's all the time, some of you guys might know him... djr-man, he used to post on here a lot.
Anyway, I downloaded a recent Anthony Pappa set, and although he is not straight up "trance", this set had a lot of trance elements to it. I strongly recommend it if you guys are up for downloading it:

Thanks for the link...anyway if you're fed up with fannycore / gaycore trance then you could try Stephen J Kroos album, or stuff from Ticon. Still quite trancy but without the huge uplifting melodies. |

Seriously, you don't see trance all over the charts today do you? You did 8-9 years ago.. Here in my hometown they used to have sections for trance in the recordstores. Now they (the two cd's that resemble trance at all) are placed under "Various", together with childrens music... (BTW, I do realise that some of you will compare trance to childrens music) |

This one was pretty huge, Progrez radioshow December 2006.

| The problem isn't so much with cheesiness, it's more about the fact that producers insist on sounding exactly the same as everything that's already out there. A synth preset gets old very quickly. |
