i ing luv miami!
the scene has changed and it will continue to change.
bring in the old and the new and the locals.
having options is key.
memorial day wkend is always weird.
on top of the regular crackheads, we go the out of town crackheads and there is lots of violence.
without these clubbers there would be no club scene.
enjoy going out, get'n wasted and listening to good music for as long as you can.
it doesn't last forever!

its obviously different for everyone
but in defense, ive gone to space waay too many times to count
i have never had a bad time
the terrace is ing awesome, ive been sober (only a few times and sober means drinking only), and i love the people watching its part of the fun.
there is not any other place besides ibiza where u can party in the daylight, and have a supermodel, millionaire ceo, drag queens, weird gay shirtless men (ok some of these guys freak me out, but i know how to have a LAUGH, and not take everything so seriously), and all the wonderful characters of life that walk through those doors any given morning partying next to each other. at sander this wmc there was a 400 lb shirtless black man going buck wild in the center of the floor at noon (there is youtube evidence out there too, great vid), you can't beat that , ing insane, everyone was having fun and he was having the most, yah he was ed out of his mind, but last time i checked drugs have always and will always be a part of the scene whether one still does them or not.
all of these people are there for one reason, music, even if they are just ups who like to hear a groove, they are allowed to do that right? so what if i have a degree from a good school and i have a good job and own a condo, but some of the people at space are cracked out junkies with nothing. does that make me better, should i be allowed to sit on this board and judge them, since im so above that? no, for the time i am there we are all the same, and that is the point, that is the vibe that is unique, and why i love that place. we all have our own niche, but its good to leave that sometime and see the REAL world for what it is.
i understand where u are coming from ambs, but this is how i see it, and you as everyone else can have their own opinion.
i just hate when people all the sudden are offended by others all ed up on drugs, because every single one of us started like that and have all been that person who didn't know that this next song was oliver knzinki's bootleg rmx from the inner ring of bratislava to be released next month on toocool4u recordings) (or whatever xyz production), and just like the fact that repetitious music sounds and feels good when u r ed up. it is after that fact that some of us realize this is amazing music for what it is with or without substances. point being even though i am there and care about the tracks, as well as the peeps on this board, WE ARE THE MINORITY, the ups are paying covers and buying drinks. they are the aggregate and that pays the bills, i haven't paid to go to space in a while, (cept for when sasha or another huge dj comes, and it is worth every penny ive spent everytime,(i would a brick if i could somehow have a counting total of the money ive spent there over the years!) but i put almost 5 years of going and spending to be able to know some people, oh yah and i live in palm beach, so with gas and parking im already out $30-$40 bucks just to walk in the door.
ffs, its a party, and good parties include getting ed up. If at times you forget that refer to my quote below, quoted from sander as what his favorite place to play is and why? ( u all can read it for the 3893674 time in case u dont get it the first time.) or go listen to eday- party to the music(rene amesz rmx is the best one ,lol), and then think to yourself what it is REALLY all about.
i hope some of you read this as an OPINION, and not get all frazzled as the constant bickering on this board at times.
party in miami with the rhythm and the bass, with the straights and the gays, having fun with the days...again remember what it is all about, and how it started. |

very well said Rzo. i have a few friends that are from Europe, and besides a few euro-snobs on the boards here, none of these cats has ever had anything bad to say about space, in fact they put it on par with some of the best clubs in the world, and im sure it is. im not saying you have to like space, but you cant undermine the place it has in club culture here in the states and abroad, it is a force, and the vibe is unmatched. i mean can anyone here tell me they would rather see their favorite dj insert name here_____ play at some place other than space? sorry man but downtown is where it is at, everybody is on the same playing field, there is no class warfare, just good music, good vibes, and good people!!
anyways, im like Rzo, ive never had a bad time at space, and im sure i never will. tho i will agree that the crowd has progressively got sketchier and uglier year after year. i remember when they first opened the new one, u would see dime after dime, now its nickel after nickel. even tho you dont get the variety of years past, they still bring in good talent, and the residents rock it down every weekend. and yea, i love how downtown miami is so seedy... it adds a certain intangible part to your evening... like visiting another world... if you're going out to listen to the filth, shouldn't you at least be surrounded by it as well? |

I can honestly say that although I don't party there anymore if I did go I'd rather be there than at any other club that completely OVER charges me for drinks, I.E. two specific places during WMC where I paid utterly RIDICULOUS prices whereas Space is pricey but standard.
Plus at least you don't have to worry about a bunch of drunk s fighting or pulling out guns/knives or any sort of drama like that.
Besides, maybe, drugs being there I can say I feel safe at Space where I know I won't get hit with a flying bottle or have chaos going on around me.
EDM is always going to attract drugs no matter what continent you're in. It doesn't bother me one bit.
Only time I'm really bothered is when you have 18+ parties where you have these little moron losers bringing glowsticks and being at Space because it's the new fad.
Besides that, it's been def a club I've had great times in as well as bad.
I just don't really party there anymore. |

I came out last night to the Wednesday party at Blue and I gotta say .. even though it was pretty empty, the music was waaaaaaay good and everyone was having a great time. I wish all the best for Space and I really do hope they survive. In my eyes everyone makes good points, and as music lovers and clubber's that we are show that we care about the scene regardless where we are coming from :toocool: . |
