Richie Hawtin spun the second best set I've ever heard him spin before - and I've seen him at least ten times. He's playing harder, dirtier, and goll-damn is it tasty. Magda opening for him is just hawt as well.
#1 Richie set of all time was in the Pit @ DEMF 2005 when the laptop pissed him off, he wrecked it, and made a whole track out of a "boop" noise. Genius! |

| Went to Catalina and met up with some friends where we took out my friend's boat to the back side of the island and drank, swam, bbq'ed, partied and fried. Good times, though I am ridiculously red at the moment. :mad: |

Weekend wasn't long enough :p
Started right after finishing up my last final on Thrusday. Went home ate and showered then went with my sister to downtown San Jose after picking up her friend. My sister got denied with her other friends ID at some hip hop club and went home upset. I went to Angels, which has had other names before that I don't recall and Christopher Lawrence has played there before but I wasn't 21 back then so this was my first time there even though I lived 2 blocks away from it before moving out of downtown San Jose. Missed the free guestlist by 5 minutes and had to pay with all my cash I had in my wallet... $5 Cyber JOe was just about to get on when I got in. Met up with friends and familiar faces. D:Jay was kind enough to let me get some drinks from the VIP booth which I immediately took advantage of -- I was buzzed 30 minutes later :haha: Took photos and wandered around a bit with my good friend Allison who got a kick trying out my camera although was a bit worried cause she was more drunk than me. Good thing she didn't drop my camera.

After Angels, a bunch of us went to an after party at a place that took Cyber Joe and I a bit too long to find. When we got there, Jay had brought his XONE:92, CDJ 1000s and some new M-Audio monitors. Cyber JOe spun some more. I crashed and got 2 or 3 hours of sleep before heading to work.
Got off work, and even though I should of taken a nap I found myself not having time to do so. Went to the city with my friend Amit to go see Hernán Cattáneo at Ruby Skye. Got in and Cattáneo was about 5 minutes into his set. Met up with some 1015 regulars, TAs and met some new people. Security was strict but they let me go on stage for 5 minutes to quickly take pictures, then again for 5 minutes and eventually I just stayed up there :D This was my first time seeing Cattáneo and it was a great even with such a short 2.5hr set. He even signed my Sequential CD (don't have cash to buy his new one :() and got a picture w/ him along with a few others who wanted a picture with him including Frenchy le Freak. I'm pretty much now tempted to head to LA for EDC to catch him again along with J00F and A&B since a few friends are likely driving down.

Went home with discodave but Frank and I were a bit worried about his driving :nervous: so we chilled at Frank's place in the city for about an hour or 2 then went back to down to the south bay.
Visited my grandma in the hospital, she had a stroke/heart-attack about a week and half ago but is doing better now. Then went to a wedding/dinner of one of Jay's friend who invited me to take pictures Thrusday night awhile at Angels. Not sure what was I thinking when I agreed to it but it didn't turned out to bad and I had fun, although shouldn't have ate before heading there cause they had so much food!
Took a 30 minute nap then went back to the city with T Dizzle and discodave. Got to 1015 early as usually and met up with friends. Main room opened w/ Cyber JOe, but there were some sound issues in the basement so Marie wasn't there to work the lighting. I ended up just switching the visuals on the projected screens for a few minutes and didn't dare to touch any thing else as I remember Blurr/Cyber Joe messing up the lighting or fog/smoke one time when Marie was too tired and went home. My camera had some issues and made my way down to the basement to fix it. Got it working again in time for Thomas Datt who had just come from playing at Lift 2 (rave). Thomas played a banging set for a small crowd compared to when 4strings played down in the basement (main room was closed). It was very immediate as everyone was there for Blurr/Thomas set and most knew each other or were 1015 regulars. Except for Shawn from Albi, he didn't know Thomas was playing until I told him :p
Ronski Speed got in the main room about 30 minutes before Thomas finished up so I was going between the two rooms getting pictures. Then everyone from the basement headed upstairs for Ronski. Got a picture of Thomas and Ronski along w/ Frank trying to get in the picture :haha: Thomas was in the crowd dancing for a bit but was exhausted and chilled in the DJ booth until he took off. Left after Taj's set and talking to the Techno_Twins about food and where we should have dinner this upcoming Saturday.

Got the most rest I've had since Thrusday and was pretty much set to go for the night or at least I thought I was until T Dizzle and discodave were ready to head to the city again. Guess I just did too much again inbetween. While we were parking by 1015, Blurr text message me that he'll be late and to create a quick list of the people I wanted him to add to his guest list at the last second. I was just like :wtf: wasn't going to work but I wrote our names and 2 other friends on a sheet of paper T Dizzle gave me -- best guestlist! We all got a laugh including Koroma who was doing guestlist at the door. My friends who I wanted to add were already on the guestlist and inside so my bad ass guestlist was unnecessary other than for laughs :haha:
Met up with everyone again and kicked back until the main room opened. Got introduced to a few people including Skwallie's friend, but forgot their names as always :mad: Main room opened up and Blurr played about an hour then Ronski Speed got on. K&A got to the club early and brought along Kristina Sky! Taj introduced me to K&A and took a picture of us, thanks again Taj :D I went into the crowd to grab my friend to have her meet a Ksky, K&A and others. Don't think she has ever taken so many pictures with so many DJs in one night so she got a kick out of it, she couldn't even ask K&A to sign her vinyl in english or german :haha: Security didn't notice her so she didn't get kicked out which made Blurr's girl ponder why. Blurr told her she was my girlfriend which she isn't just to clear things up :p K&A got on and just destroyed the place. Alex tried to get me another drink but only wanted water so drank a bit and gave half my drink to Karina -- I swear I wasn't trying anything if you're reading this Shawn :haha: Love how Ralph is so animated and all over the place. Was hard for my camera to keep up but learned a bit so hopefully I can capture Thrillseekers a bit better as he is just as animated and into it. But the night ended way to early as Taj didn't play :whip:

Over all a great weekend! Hard to pick my favorite set or night as they were all unique and special in their own way. Thanks again to everyone especially D:Jay, Cyber JOe, Taj, Blurr, Shawn, Lexxx, SF Frankie G (or whatever username you ended up getting on TA), discodave and T Dizzle. See you all this Saturday for Thrillseekers and maybe earlier for Richie Hawtin/Magda or later for Luke Fair :D
