Anybody here have this powerful Core2Duo configuration? (with 2 GB RAM, of course)
I've been looking to buy one of these, but of course neither CompUSA nor Best Buy nor any of the other "common" outlets carries it. So my only choice is to order online. I need a 2.66GHz-minimum processor for music production, an extremely resource-intensive process.
So, the price range for these animals shoots up to ~$1650 for Dell and ~1450 for HP.
Can anyone give me some words of wisdom on what a good price would be, and where I can get it ASAP. My other concern is that the box shouldn't be noisy. Despite the powerful processor, the PC should be very quiet and well-ventilated.
Experience appreciated |

if you know a thing or two about PCs, then don't order dell or HP. overpriced and underperforming. remember, its not just the CPU that does all the work ;)
do you really need a 2.66? coz ive got my 2.13 @ 3.2 no hassles at all.
ordering from australia can be a bargain with your US $$ too. i think in the US newegg.com is a popular online distributor. |

You can try www.tigerdirect.com
Get good deals there.
also www.circuitcity.com
Alos, all these pcs will come with standard sound card. You will need to install a professional sound card for you work of music production.
That also you can order it online amd maybe have to install it yourself. Not a big task, just have to plug it into the PCI slot.
I am sure you must be knowing which professional sound card you want.
Just incase you dont, following are the ones i know about
M-audio
Motu
Terratec
Auzentech |
