Coming from Vancouver, I just can't handle the winters here and the summer humidity sometimes. Otherwise, yeah, it's clean, cheap, fairly easy to drive around, good bike paths, lots of greenspace and close enough to Montreal for shopping and dirty activities :tongue3 |

Toronto is the finance capital of Canada, Montreal is pharmaceuticals, Kanata(Ottawa) is high tech, Vancouver is like resource capital. |

ottawa IS silicon valley north
montreal has software but limited IC designers
ottawa is where the real talent is, toronto has some but ottawa is the real centre of silicon design |

silicon valley is much more than IC, but whatever floats your boat.
Montreal has 120,000 people working in IT (broad) and touches everything from software, support, games, multimedia, chips, etc.
Anyways, who would want to give themselves the name of some other place in the world, oh wait, ottawa?. |

when i think silicon valley, i think of fabricating integrated circuits on wafers of silicon.
the rest of the IT industry goes hand in hand but im talking about IC design. if we're talking about the whole shabang I would give the prize to Mumbai. Silicon valley east! |
