trance hands are when you're feeling the trance vibes during a particularly uplifting moment, often vocal in nature, and you just stand there, arms stretched out in the air, or directed towards the DJ producing such mad tunage, and you just feel it--
suggested trance hand stance includes feet apart, at roughly shoulder
width, and maybe eyes closed: you can tap a foot, or two, but when trance-hands are happening, it's nice to stand still and really feel it... :toothless
well, that's what i do - also, that explanation is copyrighted :whip:

i certainly can. i probably would have gone if it wasnt in the middle of exams and at a decent price, even tho he is way past his best he still plays some trance.
im glad im not going because i know half the crowd if not more will be be like "armin van who?" and yes this annoys me.

yeah, wouldnt wanna be in a room with people going to their first proper dance party in an attempt to get them a lil interested in my biggest passion would you? only the most elite chin strokers for you!! |
haha you misunderstand. im referring to the ppl who are going to the party because its a white party or some other reason and who have no idea who armin is or have no idea what they are getting into. ie alot of people during ferrys set at fmf who tbh were an extreme dampener on my experience.
Im all for introducing new people to trance, it should be done more often. after all it is the best music genre :p gl with the conversion of someone who hates edm tho. |

^ LOL @ that.
There's a few people that have said they don't know who's playing, but they heard it was a White party! I'm like, is that right..hmmm. It's ridiculous how many others give the same naive explanation of going. They don't even know his major productions or what he plays, "techno they say, or some sort of house but faster!!!." I'm also glad I'm not going, he's becoming a wreck in his radio shows and live sets, pttf; getting over him hastily.

X2!! EXTREEMLY GOOD EXPLANATION!! i take my "trance hands" to another level lol, they were in full swing when sean tyas played airwaves at transmission thats for sure! gotta have ya eyes shut IMO, have no distractions around you and your 100% mentally and physically focused on the sounds and emotions!
and i agree wil phillby also, i dont know alota these names that play at pharmacy and so on, so i go.... experience them... and make up my mind about em, i didnt know who sean tyas was but fark after his set i was swinging towards the opinion of "great tunes, uplifting at points, constructed the set very well for the experience of his set"
to defend myself in a way, just cos i dont know who "someone in the NOW" is, doesnt mean im a newbie to trance. thats all there is to it! i sitll love my upflifting/melodic trance, touch of other styles of harder trance.... in the end, its enjoyed. takes me to my special place on cloud 9 in my own little space and it makes me smile :) thats all |

its good that alot of people that dont know who armin is are going to this, that way if they enjoy it they are more likely to seek out home grown trance nights in melbourne instead of going to the usual commercial house nights. everyone has to start somewhere and what better place to start than seeing one of the biggest names in the trance world.
and so what if people cannot list a dj's productions, they are there to have fun and party that is all that matters. |

"who is sean tyas? why he's the saviour of trance music! you see what he does, is he takes a song someone wrote 10 years ago, adds a new kick drum, maybe a high-hat here and there and voila! new anthem!"
"but i dont get it. the song is 10 years old and it already sounds good. why did he do that?"
"ah good question young grasshopper! you see, the song is already 10 years old, like you said. but now its not! because it is a new remix! of course it sounded good before, that's the point. but now it has been updated! it sounds fresh!"
"but it didnt sound old. you said all he adde*SMACK*
"LESSON OVER FOR TODAY!"

pvd edits > sean tyas reworks, imo.
