Supero Recordings wants you!!!

Dear all,

Many of you may know me from the forums here, in part for comments; some of the older members may also be familiar with my music also.

I have recently become A&R manager for Supero Recordings which is a sub label to Soundtribemuzik. This puts me in a position where it is my job to find and sign new talent as well as attract already signed artists who may want another way to release music that they felt should be release but may have been turned down by existing labels. As we all know, it’s not always good music that gets signed and opinions on what this exactly is differs greatly.

If you feel that you have something that is worthy of being signed to a label and you would like me to take a listen then please don’t hesitate to submit your work to the following address:

[email protected]

Please be aware that I will not accept half finished tracks and want to hear the full track. Your work must be original, i.e. no loops or samples from other tracks and no using of midi files from known tracks. You all know anyway. :)

I will take the time to listen to your music and value the input of the TrancEaddict community greatly as I feel I would like to try and give something back to you. After all, it is you guys who helped me produce tunes.

Just put TA in the subject line of the e-mail so I know where you are from, not that this gives you special treatment in terms of signing but it will give me an indicator of who to keep an eye on.

It is also may plan to have a few Remix compos later in the year where the best entries will be released alongside the original so something to look out for.

All the best

Hey Karl, that's great to hear.

I suppose you should specify though, what genres are of interest to this label?
Nemesis44
Doh!

Sure you are right.

We are interested in Trance as follows:

Tech Trance (Supero Black)
Twisted Prog (Supero Black)
Euphoric and uplifting (Supero White)
And yer good ol' prog house (Supero White)

Been thinking of adding a sub section called Supero Bliss but that is still in the works.
This would feature chilled trance. But do feel free to submit all the same.

Cheers
Karl

Technically it's still the same label, its just the packaging that's different, just to create an identity with regards to the music style. It's not sub labels perse.

Besides, everybody wants clear labeling on their food these days, why not do the same with music. It's a label that's been around for a while, released tunes here and there so it's not like it's out of the blue, or me that started it. Also has all the regular outlets and a few that a lot of digital labels don't and this is based on the companies contacts and reputation. Similarly it is also part of a Promo distribution pool that sends tracks to all the top jocks, so the right people will be getting the promos.

With the risk of sounding arrogant, you can either submit tunes or not, the choice is yours, ultimately we will sign what we think will work. If that means everything gets a black label because the only good stuff we are getting is Tech trance then so be it.

Since you haven't submitted anything, it shouldn't really worry you, if you are about to then lets talk business. If anyone has any questions then send them to the e-mail address above and I will answer.

I have already recieved close to 30 demos this week, two have made it, and I actually went after them they did not come to me. We are not going to try and fill space for the sake of it, if nothing good comes our way for a while then we wont sign anything.

As I said before, I have been around here long enough to have an idea how this works.

Cheers

It's nice to get feedback on our music and the chance to get signed.

I wanted to ask a few questions.

What if you like a tune but the person who made it is no good at mastering?
If you loved a tune but you didn't like certain things in the tune would you be able to suggest some imrpovement's to make it better?

Thanks for the chance to get a tune signed:D

Ps, have you got any info for us about what you want dont want?

Hey there,

Sure, we do have the option of mastering and recognise that not it's not everybody's strong point. It also depends on what you refer to as mastering, as I have noticed that a lot of people actually refer to the mix down when talking about this. But yes we have access to mastering tools and indeed engineer if the need arises.

If I heard a tune that I felt was worthy of being signed and I heard something I didn't like, first I would have to objectively sit back and think to myself, is it just me that doesn't like this. Perhaps play it to a few people (DJs mainly). Probably the view I would take though is more along the lines of, is this right for the label, not necessarily if I like it.
As a DJ I have to play tunes sometimes that I don't personally like but clubbers love and recognise that everybody is different. I also recognise the difference between something destroying what otherwise would be a great track. Saying that I haven't come to that situation.

That said, we would have to come to some agreement first in terms of contract because we wouldn't be prepared to advise on parts in the tune and have an engineer work on it if we weren't able to release it. Although I'm always happy to provide pointers as to what I see. But I freely accept that you have people here who have infinately better ears and knowledge about the technical side of things.

But thanks for taking a positive out look to this. And look forward to hearing your tracks.

Cheers

Thanks for answering the questions:D

I just hope i can make some wicked tunes like my friends,Guyver, Gaz west, Alf bamford, as they have made some killer tuens over the years.
