its cheesy but so what. If thats what you like then keep doing it. After all, we should always make the music we enjoy listening to. For a newbie, you definately have some understanding of creating a melody so you're on your way.
Focus now on creating a cool drum loop and bass line, then play these with your melody and take it from there |

oh yeah its right...if you enjoy cheesy songs, go for it! :) I don't see a reason why not...I actually thought it was more a matter of not being able to make it "non-cheesy" so to say...

hey newbie,
We all make our own style of edm ,so do what you want if it sounds good ,but i also agree with G-con trance is more than just a melody
so program other elements like fx,drums,bass etc and arrange them in a mixer. |

You obviously got the nack for making melodys, dude just add some percs and bass line you pretty much got a tune.
Listen to this, i just add some percs in a couple minutes.
