using VEC 1 syths in reason nn19 sampler. The sample I am trying to use is bass 248 G. I assume this means it is a "G" note sample. My sample defaults to load the sample to play on C3. This means that when I play C3 I am acutally playing the note "G" beacuse the sample is just playing the original sample correct? If this is the case and I want the note to be played in C tham how do I adjust the notes on the keyboard? Do I pitch up from C to F. Do I adjust the appropriate amout of white keys or the appropriate amount of black and white together (I know in this case it would be the same but I want to know the tonal difference formula so I can make future adjustments correctly.

Please help :eyes:

Take a look at the 'screen' on the NN-19. Along the bottom are 7 knobs, one of which is titled 'ROOTKEY'. Turn it and select the Root Key (hmm...) of your sample.

You may need to click the horizontal strip above the little keyboard to select the sample range that you're adjusting. (Just above the horizontal strip with "C1 C2 C3...")

Remember that when you play higher than the root the sample will be shorter, and when you play lower the sample will be longer.

Hope it helps.

Thanks guys I understand the rootkey adjustment. Why do you suggest making the key range only one note? ( i understand how to do this not why) What if the note changes as the song progresses?
