How long do window banger A/C units last

| My sharp unit is on its 4th summer and its not cooling asweel as it did the first few summers, any suggestions ,is this typical? Should I replace it? |

have you ever cleaned or changed the filter in it??
That may be a good start. Mine in my condo lasted 17 yrs (it is a wall unit). I just replaced it this year. |

tay.. maybe it is time for a new one then.
You may want to try and make it last one more summer, cuz if you didn't get it in the spring, you are gonna pay through the ass for a new one now that the hot weather is creepin up on us. :( |

| you should be able to get the freon or w/e it uses to cool recharged too |

| I heard that its not as easy to buy freon yourself anymore. I am having the same problem but all of mine are under maintenance as a part of my rent so all I have to do is call the repairman. |

| I'm so thankful for having central air. I remember living in ny with those bulky loud ass a/c units. We only had like one so everyone had to always chill out in that room where ever it was in.:whip: |

I saw Circuit City selling some conditioners for around $80. And they're pretty big (some of them). Maybe now is the time to get one. |

| Im going to make it this summer with this one. It seems its working a bit better now. Maybe the time it was out it went a bit cold or something and i had to be left on for a bit to get going again. |
