Last night Ferry played quite well - not the best set I'd ever heard from him, as there were a couple moot points for me, but for the most part I like it. He didn't play THAT much from his new cd either.
He started off a little wacky imo, but he quickly got into some melodic trance for awhile...had a short period of electo-ish stuff in the middle...and then ended the night again with some hard banging trance. A lot more trancey than I expected - very happy about that.
I told him that I was hoping for some uber trance during sunrise at the skybar, so we'll see what he does :) |
I was giving Ferry msgs on my cell all night. The first was the one I quoted...and I said I was glad to have him back in Ontario <3 Lisa-Loo. Immediately he recognized me and was like "Hey, how are you?"
I asked him to play Force of Gravity too - I know it's old, but it's one of my fave remixes of his...sure enough he played it near the end of the night. I started videotaping it and he looked over at me and starting saying something and smiling, and I'm a fool and turned my camera the other way b/c I was talking to him...son of a bitch. Well I guess it's not like I don't have any pictures of him ;)
He signed a flier "To Lisa Loo, Love Ferry" hehe And looked over a few times at me making gestures as if looking for my approval and started dancing. Ahhhhh. I love Ferry!! He's the only DJ I get so excited about like this!
My fave was when he took his headphones out and packed them away 3 times, and was like "okay, okay, one more"...then he would spin a couple more instead of one. At the end of the night he told us to "shut up" haha. I told him I'd see him tomorrow (tonight) and Sunday.
It was nice to see some of TAs - thanks for driving Branden (and Shay & Kal hehe). It was good to meet some new ones as well. Dragonly...just as I love it - not that crowded. Good night. |

Best part of the night was hearing his oldies, especially System F-- Out of the Blue.
May skip tonight's Skybar event because last night I wigged out on E and became extremely paranoid. Hence, the reason I've slowed down the scene and partying for months. Decided to come back big time for Ferry and it was a ed up terrible experience.
Used to be a superstar and was never a lightweight sketchbag. I've got years of CZ under my belt for sakes.:D LOL Guess, the unusual American and drinking crowd tripped me out at Dragonfly. Hahaha, I've been to Dragonfly several times and always drank there instead of rolling. I should have saved the "funstuff" for tonight. Now I don't know if I'm going because of the adverse effects of my partying last night. I got really tripped out last night.
Lisa-Loo, I did see you and wanted to say hello. However, I was in no condition to socialize because of my impairment and extreme paranoia.
I may fully retire from the scene after July 1 for Steve Lawler.
I still wanna go tonight, but the "freaks" keep coming at night again... :whip: |
