Blackberry 8703 or Treo 700

I have this dilemma.

I recently broke my treo 650. I can still receive calls, but the screen is broken. I dropped it. Touch-screens are sooo sensitive.

So I went to Telus, thinking I would totally decide on the blackberry as my next purchase.

Who knew that the Treo 700 was completely revamped and has soo many new features. And they worked out all the bugs that were pissing me off with my 650.

Treo has camera, video, email, text, external memory card, microsoft office and the list goes on.

Blackberry of course does not have as many features and is completely different from the Treo. I ended up picking up the blackberry just cause I wanted something different, but I am still pondering on exchanging it for the Treo.

I am usually not this indecisive.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I just got the Treo 700.

I got the windows version... i think the interface isn't so hot. Worse then my old Motorola Q. it's also big and heavy. The only thing I like about it more than the Q is that I can edit excel files rather then just viewing them. helps for when I need to put together guest lists and spread sheets on the go :p

I am totally bias to Blackberries, only cuz I had one for so many years. The biggest different between the BB and Treo is for sure the camera. You have to go with what is most comfortable for you Linds.
If you take the Treo for example, how many of the options it has that BB doesn't have did you use in the first place? If you used more of the options that BB doesn't have, then maybe you should go and switch it back to the Treo. I have also read some of the reviews from both and ppl who have had both have ended up picking the BB over the new treo (but again it is their preference). It is a lot of money to not be happy with the product you selected.

I know personally I don't care about having a camera on the phone. And I was after this BB ages ago when it was only out in the EU.

I would read up on some things ppl have written who have owned both.

Just to get you started Lindsay :)
Good luck with your choice!

Too bad your w/ Telus ... Treo 680 and 750 are pretty amazing for GSMs. Wait a bit, the Treo 755p is coming out for CDMAs, right after Sprint gets it. But if you can't wait ... I vote for the 700. Blackberry look and feel like a DVD remote. If you don't use Data a lot, no point of getting the Blackberry.

Why don't you get a screen replacement? It's only 10 USD + shipping, one thing though .. you gotta take you Treo apart, let's hope you know what your doing :p

Well I just switched to Rogers from Telus .. and gave up my blackberry 8703 for a Palm Treo 650..

Both do email .. but if you use your phone for business or do ALOT of emails everyday personally.. a Blackberry is the way to go .. having email in real time is a huge help. Palms dont have this .. they have to connect to a server and pull data every 15 mins or so ... making having a conversation over email quickly when you need an answer .. not possible ..

One thing .. and really the only thing i like about the Treo's .. is the Touch screen.. ! so nice .. comon blackberry ! screw the trackball and get a touch screen !

If anyone is with Telus .. i've got an almost brand new ( used for a few months .. few scratchs ..) Blackberry 8703 for sale ..
msg me an offer :)

there is nothing more that I hate then having fingerprints on ANY screen. I am personally happy that BB doesn't have a touch screen.
(I realize that you don't have to use your fingers, but that is always an option.. lol)
