Ode to Soundbar (pg. 3)

Only been there three times I believe. Once for Deep Dish like three years back, then Holden and Mojo from what I can remember. Even though I play quite regularly at the better know Detroit clubs I have always wanted to throw down at Sound-Bar and been a bit jealous of its decor and layout. I think it is a beautiful place with pretty nice sound. Never had any problems each time we went however that was during the pure years and we were always taken care of when making it down. That might have something to do with our experiences however so I don’t know how things have been lately.

I was at Holden last year (Feb. 22nd?) and that was a really good experience. I think Seneca hung out that night too, forget who else was there besides a couple more gay russian dudes that offered to come over to their apartment...

I remember it being right before DEMF last year because I played with Holden right after we saw him at sound-bar. That was a good night for sure, the next night if my memory serves me right was Steve Lawler at Vision which was pretty lame.

I think Danny Howells was around then too. That night was off the hook. My favorite TA gathering was either Sander K @ Crobar or Ferry Corsten @ Vision the sumemer b4

The only bad time I've had at Soundbar was Sasha in June a couple years back - and that was entirely due to the fact that it was about 100 degrees outside and Sasha played awfully (including not one, but two laptop crashes!).

Never had an issue otherwise. Had many a good time at Soundbar.

I was never knocking that I don't have a good time there. Friday was actually one of my favorite nights out at a club even though it was so hot.
What I was knocking was the fact that everyone I know seems to have a bad taste in their mouth about it, and here is my reasoning as to why. If the same dj was playing at soundbar, smartbar,or spybar; it would be my guess people would not be picking soundbar.
