I noticed there isn't a Local Scene Info / Discussion forum for Asia/Japan on here...lame. Anyone know of any good boards?
Miss Julia
I don't think you've met freshcoast, but he used to live in LA and moved to Japan last year. You should send him a PM.

Word! There's so much going on in Asia as far as the EDM scene that it think it warrants a different discussion forum for Asia. Asians love EDM and we they should be given that forum.

I have begged swamper (as have many in the COR) for an asia forum. Mostly because I want to practice Japanese, but he says there is not enough demand. =(

There are some intersting groups on www.mixi.jp but I doubt you can read it.

the scene in hong kong died like 3 years ago..
hong kong doesn't get many good djs coming roung anymore, but i remember back in the day when pvd came 1-2 times a year and there were parties at least once every 2 months..

The only thing I know of is the RA boards. They just created a Japanese forum this year, it used to be a single thread in the general forum. It's not very active though. http://www.residentadvisor.net/foru...y.aspx?forum=59
There isn't a very active expat community in Japan related to dance music, I don't think. But I don't live in Tokyo so I may be out of the loop.

PM me your email and I can send you a mixi invite. Think you can finish the registration process? :p I recommend you use Firefox and install the Rikaichan addon, otherwise you won't get anywhere, unless of course you're fluent in Japanese. http://www.polarcloud.com/rikaichan/

Mixi does have a load of communities for everything you could imagine. The only problem is you'll have to communicate in Japanese since there's hardly any English activity.

If there's something specific you're looking for, I could try to find out.

I have a friend that will be in Tokyo at the end of June. Anyone know of any interesting EDM events going on then?
