everytime i go through a phase of crazy drinkin, i pay for it with severe heartburn. probably worse than child birth, but then again, i wouldnt know what child birth feels like.

i had severe heartburn during pregnancy...then i went thru childbirth and you're right...honestly the heartburn was way worse. (I did take the epi tho)

The postpartum tho...now that's a freaking killer!

dude, i'm having this problem right now. Went on a 5 day drinking binge (i'm usually a lite drinker) and have been suffering from this heartburn for the last 4/5 days.

Its getting better though, i can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Going by your vocabulary, I find it weird you're even asking this question.

alcohol is BRUTAL for causing your stomach to produce acid.

Worst thing prolly possible for it.

When I had my ulcer I was told to avoid ANY alcohol... lol yeah right like that was gonna work.

All about the presciption drugs to inhibit ur stomach from making the acid, and tums after the fact to absorb any that ur stomach did make, and then tylenols (NOT advils, bc they're much harder on ur stomach) to kill any pain that still comes up.

that was my solution so that my ulcer never affected my drinking :D

acetaminophen and alcohol is quite a toxic combination for your liver. Never mix em.

Alcohol is a solvent, so yes it can cause pain if you over-expose the lining of your stomach and esophagus.

Gee, I wonder if its because you've been on a multiple day drinking binge... lol... thats HORRID for your body; moreso your liver and cells than your stomach, which is an immediate symptom... I don't know why anyone would want to put their body through that much trauma? I must just be strange...
Fast Turtle
my sister used to drink 3-4 drinks a day and she developed gastritis after about 6 months... be careful.
StereoPrincess
yes.

The way your thread title is worded (for example, how many people would use the word "secretion") implies you're intelligent, and I would even go as far as to guess that maybe you're a med student. Based on that, the fact that you're asking this question on a message board about music instead of Googling was a little surprising.
