I'm trying to set my computer up so I can do live mixes using Ableton 6,, Basically I want to be able to plug my sound card into my channel 1 + channel 2 inputs on my mixer using RCA Leads, think thats what there called (the red and white ones)..
Would the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card be ok do do this? Looking at the card it looks like its only got an 'In L+R' and an 'out L+R' but the descriptions say 2in/2out, does that mean they can both be used as outputs,, I'm getting really confused.. I know there's the external ones I could use but I'm tryin to keep the price down because I'm a bit skint.. |

| it has a pair of stereo in (2 input channels) and a pair of stereo outs (2 output channels) this is why its 2/2. If your looking to run 2 stereo pairs into your mixer (ie 4 channels of sound) you'd need a 4 channel soundcard...audio interfaces can be confusing at first ;). |

Most of the time when you see a sound card, it's listed something like this:
10/14
10 inputs, 14 outputs.
That means 5 stereo inputs (L+R) and 7 stereo outputs.
A little misleading, unless you are really into mono :) (which, for recording instruments like guitars and such is fine) |
