so... with all the pointless remakes of trance classics coming out over the past few years this hardly comes as a surprise. but whereas i'm normally not too bothered by them, this one especially annoys me for some reason. maybe partly because it's already been re-issued at-least twice following it's initial release, partly because well, even as remakes go it's pretty ... but mainly because it's now no longer by art of trance, apparently. it's been signed as a cover
am i the only one who finds this inherently wrong? he's brought nothing new to the table, it's just the madagascar melody on a bog-standard basic trance backing with no surprises & a fraction of the power of the older mixes
stuff like this is making me increasingly more embarrassed to be a trance fan by the day :-/ |

| Hardly surprising though. This was one of my least favorite art of trance tracks so I'm not too bothered by it. As long as they don't touch killamanjaro or easter island :nervous: |

Hmmm it's a bit better than the original mix, but it doesn't beat 'Fallen Too Far'.
Btw, not really a big fan of this track. |

Horrible,
thats all i can say. With this remix uplifting is finally dead. How could a remix be. All time classic tis is and Neil jus do a boring fart job on it. Seems like Uplifting guys didnt have any new ideas for melodies and now they are killing the classix.
Tis really deserves 0.5/10 |

Lol!
I think the sophie sugar remix is actually quite good. I really like when the classics get more energy. |

I think the Downey Remix of Heaven Scent takes the biscuit. |

listening to the GD remix of Heaven Scent right now and I think it kills.. heard armin play it at avalon in april and the crowd went nuts.. downey took the orig melody and then updated the rest of the track a bit.. it's not like some hard trance dips**t tried to switch up the melody and then add some horrid "banging" bassline behind it.. i personally think downey did a great and respectful job of this classic.. not sure if it is the nostalgia talking, but this track will never get old IMO.. ;) |

The thing with the GD remix is that it brings ABSOLUTELY nothing new. Seriously nothing is updated. In fact if you listen to the original you can hear how complex it is with its many layers, as for the GD remix is your standard, boring attempt. So why bother bringing it? Some tracks just need to be left alone, cause most of the time it's a FAIL. And of course people went nuts, they recognize the riff man! He could have played the original/john johnson remix and the crowd would've gone mad.
As for Madagascar...lol, just lol. Not even Art of Trance as artist name.
