You just reminded me of the first bedroom set up I tried to play on back in '82 which was one tape deck , one turntable w/o a pitch control and a radio shack 2 channel mixer. Good thing Madonna songs were always either 116 bpm or 120 bpm back then :toothless
Ofcourse our Eq's back then were only found on the amps.
