The semantics of electronic music. I read another guy saying that they call it electro because people got tired of calling it house.

I see diferent genres in these, granted some could crossover a bit, but do we not also see some country influences in Metallica songs?

You have your basic house which is a more minimalistic sound without the suck, Chicago-house, more of a lounge house, progressive house(which is trance just at a slower bpm and not many breakdowns without a real beat), and electro which has literally as it says, the sound of an electrical arc beat.

I think if you want to break down pro-trance and pro-house more you can say that while house uses the basic drum kick beat and some of the mid points for it's sounds as the focus point, trance more uses the mid to higher sounds as the focal point to the song. This includes the higher frequencies and epic vocal points that house lacks.

I heard Rob Turner is know to throw down a mean gabber set which wouldn’t exactly fit into any of those categories. I still think you should give me a listen.

Well, I have created my own genre - ready to be debuted this very weekend at Vision Nightclub; I call it "Jabbin' House," where I mash up the best of Chicago's own old school jackin' house with todays hottest Gabber records, at which point I proceed to MC lyrics from old Rainbow Brite songs in the fashion of Chav Grime MC's from North London.

See you all tomorrow! :gsmile:
