A buddy of mine and I occasionally pop a couple, drop some dope tracks, and trip the out to Milkdrop on a 42" widescreen. Next weekend, we are getting some friends together for a wild night of music and other stuff, and he asked me to prepare a mix.
I've done alot of these "party" mixes before, but I always wondered if there was a way to compose a mix so that the right brainwaves are stimulated at the right time to tap into the full potential of the mind altering effect of MDMA. I want to create a real deep, drugged out trippy mix that doesn't just focus on off-beat or glitchy sounds, but a combination of atmospheric ambience, searing basslines, and out of this world effects.I was wondering if anybody knew about this, or anything of the sort.
Just curious. Thanks for any info on this very weird topic. |

Sounds like what you are looking for is light and sound machine. Its glass with led's and headphones that play low end sounds at different speeds, its pretty effective. |

Or you can put on Shulman. He produces some excellent psy-dub. I remember last October I played his In Search of a Meaningful Moment CD on a 4 channel system with Milkdrop visuals playing on a 32 inch flat screen while tripping on LSD. Total MIND. :wtf: |

i'm not a DJ so i am sure that there are others here who could give more insight on this subject than i.
that being said, i have been around the party scene since before there was electricity (lol-ok, maybe not that long).
drugs, like anything, have a cycle.
similar to the classic framework that is used when writing a story;
introduction,
rising action,
climax,
falling action,
conclusion.
i've noticed that if you can time it right,
it will be a very enjoyable experience.

| I don't think it's there yet. But trance tracks recorded with binaural technology have a very real potential of altering the states of consciousness as you listen to them. |
