I could simply pay taxes to the city I'm living in, regardless of the country. Such system would require some legal changes, specially against cheating (i.e. people paying taxes in a small city like Ban Houayxay and then moving to New York for medical treatment), but I do think this is possible once you get over nationalism.
Basically, that's what we do in our countries, but in a immensely larger scale. |
