let's just put it this way:the level of addiction can'y be based on how fast your internet connection is:D
As for me,I like so many different styles and I've only got ISDN so my trance collection isn't that big.But anyways:

true true
Its also based on the fact if you visit party's or not if you ask me. Some are still to young, so I'm not talking about them. But some just rot away behind there comp and say that thy are addicted when they've never felt the real Trance Feeling on a party. |

I've got about 30GB of mp3's, all of them trance. But it doesn't even start to illustrate my level of addiction.
How addicted am I? It's not pretty.. |

Amen! You really have to get into the "scene" to have truly experienced Trance at its best.
Many people have already mentioned it, but I will do so too because it's such an important point - having 5.6 x 10^9 gigs of mp3's on your HD doesn't necessarily make you a "greater" or "better" Trance "addict" than someone who has 100 megs. It's your attitude, commitment, and *inner self* that determine how devoted you are to your music. If one is truly committed to music (not necessarily Trance, can be anything), then he or she does not need to assert himself or herself by announcing how many gigs of mp3's he or she has.
It's like saying that I'm a better driver than you because I drive a Porsche GT2 and you drive a Jetta. For all I know, you could be the #1 race car driver in the world, but you just like the feel of a Jetta when on the streets.
People really devoted to something need not tell everyone about it - their devotion in itself is quite enough. Anything else is just flaunting the ego and quite unnecessary. |

I just finished burning my 62nd MP3 disk, have 800+ mp3 still on my hardrive, and approx 250 bought cds. Not all of it is trance, but easily 85%+ is trance/techno/jungle/ambient/etc...
But the true sign of my addiction is withdrawal symptoms. Many of my friends dont listen to trance at all. We end up in country bars, Karaoke joints and rock clubs.... it completely sucks. I actually get in a ty mood every time im there, and become extremely antisocial. Then, on the way home, listening to Trance in the car, i start to smile again, start groovin to the music, and get a second wind of energy.
Without trance, there is no happiness.

LOL I know *exactly* what you mean my friend!! I find myself in the exact same position from time to time, and boy does it suck!
Of course, I don't mind a lot of that music, and I even like a lot of it (heavy metal, for example, is one my favourite non-Trance genres), but I just can't get into the "groove" (as you say) when listening to it. I certainly can't dance to it! Dancing is really my gauge of how good certain music is. If I don't feel the urge to get up and go nuts, if I don't feel that *tickle* within my heart, that surge of DESIRE - then chances are that I won't like the music in the first place.
Though sometimes I am perfectly content with closing my eyes and enjoying the music (only really applies to Trance and CLASSICAL), preferrably with a quality pair of headphones. |

I'm in complete agreement. Last night, at my regular club in my small uni town, i got the dj to play Blank and Jones - Desire (4 strings remix). This is a club that spins house and hip-hop, the only time it touches on trance is with sandstorm and rapture. I all of a sudden completely came alive, and the club started to look that much better, and everyones faces looked that much friendlier. I socialized like a maniak right afterward and up untill the end of the night.
but...if I wanted to...I could quit. Really, I could! I just don't want..to..err. at the moment.
cheers

i completely agree with you man.
i get sooooo depressed when i get in my car for work and i forget my discman. being forced to listen to hiphop and cheesy euro tunes on the local "dance" radio station makes me gag!
but when i turn on my trance, all my problems dissolve away into bliss
*ahhh*
