Chris Liebing@ Rebel Review

Rebel as a venue was awesome. They got A/C and couches!!! I love Rebel for that.

But I hated to see that there were little turn out for Liebing. Around 3am ish.. It was only about 20 ppl. And why the heck Liebing had to stop around 4 ish am? Due to concerns about Noise Level? It is just another bull crap passing on me.

Music... I think I quite enjoyed with minimal/electro sound. I didn't much know about that before but I guess I can into it now. Liebing seems that he does not want to be distinguished as playing his music genre. I guess at this point his point is like PvD. Liebing wants to be his own player. Anywho.. I am off to the bed. Good nite. ;)

I don't know what songs Liebing played for the night. But I am sure he played Len Faki - "Die Rumpelkammer" for the night. This tune is recent blockbuster tune for DJs like Liebing.

Yeah it's a bummer about the turnout, it goes to show just how much draw Pacha has, no matter what DJ, considering it's packed everytime he's THERE. I personally enjoyed myself so much last night, I like more to be with a crowd of less than 100 who are there to appreciate and see the DJ, like me, than a full house of kids who will be there next week and the week after that, and have no idea who Liebing is because they're too busy celebrating their 18th birthday with their friends (and waiting for the limo to pick them up again). I love Rebel, that's all I gotta say and I hope to see Liebing there again, and promoted a lot better hopefully.

Yeah he played that!... Plays it in every set from the past months... Anyway, my review is this: to me, it really doesn't get any better than Chris Liebing. The guy is a god, and I can literally dance in the same spot and stare at him do his thing (and smile like a madman) for hours, like I can't DJ-watch other DJs: LEGEND.

Damn, 20 ppl is sad. This reminds me of when Westbam played at Club Exit in BK. Me and Tae and like one other guy were prob the only ones who knew who Westbam was. ROTFL. Place had liek 200+ ppl, so it def. wasnt dead by any means, but it was the usual local heads that prob go there every week. Too bad Liebings turnout sucked. :wtf:

Damn, this track is TIGHT.

EDIT: Sorry, i clicked on the wrong link. This was what I was talking about.

Len Faki - "Mekong Delta" (original mix)

Len Faki - "Just A Dance" (Technasia's Filter dub)

Len Faki - "The B East Roller"

Damn, a lot of these productions are DOPE.

we had a good time on Friday night. never stayed around for Liebing, but I saw him on my way out. I'm sure he wasn't thrilled about the low turnout, but it seems from everyones reviews that he was into it while he played. I'm sure him being told to shut it down had a lot to with the fact that there was no on in the club.

If I were in his position, Id just never come back to NYC for gigs anymore. Its sad how little of a turnout a good DJ like him got this past weekend. Unfortunately, he doesnt have much draw, unless its at a club where ppl go to chill and it could be any DJ playing really aka Crobar, Pacha, or whatever. Ive met him before and hes one of the coolest most down to earth peeps out there.
