ok im sure there has been threads about this before but i did a search and nothing came up (plz point me in the right direction if u know of any threads). Im looking for a new mixer at the moment and i dont have a lot of money but i do want something with effects and 4 channels. Is this mixer any good? if i could i would get the DJM800 but way to expensive for me and i saw this one going for about $1100 which is still a little to much but i think i could stretch myself and get that in a few months. so any problems with it or anything i should know about it?

Thanks
Chris

For around 1100-1250, you can get a new DJM 800 on eBay fyi. Used go for around 1000.

Yes, the NUO5 is a great mixer! Up there with the DJM-800 or XONE:92 (of course, different styles for different folks ;)). 800's a fine mixer....but it might be out of your budget in Canada...depends where you wanna buy it.
chris harrington
i will be buying it in canada

anyone else have anything to say?

It has horrible EQs in my opinion. I'd skip it.

If I had 1100 bones right now I'd buy a Rane Empath Rotary.

i played with the empath rotary @ taro (if u remember that place allied)
dint like it one bit

on the other hand i played with a nuo-4 and loved the feel
big spaced knobs cool mixer

Different styles of mixing I suppose... I've spent a good but of time on a friend of mine's Nuo4 in Calgary and I didn't like the EQ bands at all... Loved the size of the knobs though...

I just love a beefy 3 channel mixer. My previous favorite was the Vestax Carl Cox one, but after playing on an Empath Rotary in Ottawa my opinion has changed. Luckily a friend is getting one in his loft :disbelief

Bought a Nuo5 about 6 weeks ago and I absolutely love it.
Big knobs, and I personally like the EQ bands. The bass kill switches are great, especially when you want to 'swap' basslines.

The effects on the mixer is great too.

I have the Nuo 5 and IMO its by far the best bang for buck mixer on the market.

Prior to the nuo, I played (in this order) on behringer djx700, pioneer djm 500, djm600 and a couple of times on the 800.

I would not trade it for any of the above

One small con would have to be the effects. You must bring the gain slightly up a notch as they lower the main output.
