| Bottom line is that I can hear the difference between 192 and 320. But the difference is very little between 320 and WAV. Anyway some clubs have so ty sound systems that I wonder if they play 128 kps mp3 :) |

Its sad but true. Some tracks i get in wave from beatport do sound like they were sourced from mp3. I thought beatport was doing that in order to sell those track to wave buyers or to make extra buck. |
Well mine was a 320kbps mp3, so it shouldn't be that noticable (I hope - for me it isn't). It happened to two tracks, with a harddrive failure. I happened to get one source file back later on from a friend whom I shared it with... And the second song I got back frmo the same friend, only it was an early copy where the song wasn't even half finished hehe.. happens :( |

Most sound systems are usually rubbish anyway from years of abuse, so you could probably even use 128. Even if you do use low bitrates in a good club they often have some sort of audio enhancement or amplifier that makes it sound better than it would normally. |

the simple fact that you used the term "l337" is enough reason for me to not even bother arguing with you.
if you wanna talk about elite, Nem is the only one in this thread that i would give that title to. That dude knows his , and backs it up. You might want to listen to him before trying to start a "My club's sound system is better than your clubs sound system" flame war. |

I hope u r joking..
Terabytes hard drives are like $200, you can play neverending 200000 year set with 320kbps mp3s from it.. Storage is CHEAP these days..
Even Solid state Flash hard drives are coming down in price..

I think you can defenitly notice the difference with below 320kbps mp3s... after that wav is a little bit better but for most of the time I don't notice. I really wish I could get 320kbps mp3s but I'm too young to get a credit card to buy stuff legally :whip:
BTW isn't WMA losses lossless and smaller then wma? |

| You can just do what I used to do; borrow someone's card, pay them a certain ammount in cash, then spend that ammount using their card. All they have to do is make a payment and that takes like 30 seconds. |

Whoa whoa whoa there sally pants, who started a My club's sound system is better than your clubs sound system"?
:stongue:
In case you missed it, roughly that was you.
Read, comprehend, then post.
And might I add how tiring it gets to read peoples "defer to Nem, he knows all" attitudes on here. I get it, he's a pro and all of you DJ booth fellows wish to be just like him - but for s sake, some of the people are claiming in this thread is utter nonsense.
Discussing whether or not you can tell the difference between a 192, 320, and WAV at home, and whether or not you can tell the difference at 99% of the clubs in the world are two entirely different things.
It'd be nice if instead of people just reacting, they actually read the thread and thought about reality, instead of just attempting to sound smart on the internets. |
