lots people like it with rice but i prefer it with roti..

I think (though I'm not sure) that the recipe we use is from a Professor here at UWSP who makes it for almost all of our department dinners, and he prepares it with roti as well - we have to serve it with rice because of the way the restaurant I work at is set up, but really it isn't much - it's mostly lentils that make up it's bulk.

I just find it so odd to look at aesthetically that it seems to cross over into my enjoyment of it while eating it - dunno, just a weird mental block. I'm crazy.

Course I know what Dhal is, I'm half Indian. It doesn't mean I have to like lentils and certainly doesn't mean I like curry either! :haha:
Ramja, Mung or Chana Dhal is better than the lentil ones.

See, at the time I'd been raised by my English grandmother since I was 5 who would make me all kinds of nice stuff which is simple, robust, strong flavours and suits my palate and during holidays I'd go stay with my mother and stepfather who where sort of hippies.
It didn't matter what part of the world they where in, it could be Ethiopia, Iran, Pakistan or god damn Ireland and it would always be-
They would reek of patchouli oil
The place would reek of sandal wood
And always be cooking vegetarian stuff with lentils in it

I don't like hippies
I DO NOT like lentils
