Lucky there will be plenty of people at Pappa who do love Darkbeat & Sunny parties for their attention to sound quality, cheap drink prices and general ability to bring total MC's to Melbourne. |
Fair nuff dude I see your point with what Walter said about it. The thing is that he was probably referring to one Darkbeat party and I didn't think he meant that all Darkbeat parties sucked in general.
I just thought saying, "please don't come to our parties" sounded a bit discouraging and maybe slightly elitist. If Walter wanted to go, his presence there would not really bring the night down for everyone else would it? He just be another paying patron (along with the others accompanying him) that could only ensure the success of your night. If he doesn't enjoy it then he's entitled to say, "I don't like it".
I'm all for what you guys do and I personally can't wait for this shindig but I don't feel discouraging anyone would be practical for your night that's all :) |

Darius commented on your Avatar, just as you commented on the 'rubbish crowd'. Both are 'opinions' are they not?
You can't have it both ways Walter. If you want to come out and give 'your opinion' in such an ill-considered, uncronstructive and completely inflamatory way then you should be happpy to accept 'opinions' back from people in the same manner.

ok i'll try and be constructive; get friendlier security guards who answer when u say hello, try an attract a crowd who didn't arrive off a bus from nimbin with bags of acid who dropped glasses all over the dance floor, perhapes the seats could be turned along the walls to face the d.floor, and get more females in (i counted about 15 as phil K came on, 2 of which came in our group)

i went to see Hernan Cattaneo - got chatting to a promoter on the way up sayin i cant have a big one cos of armin next night, and his response of "oh so can see 4000 wogs pumping their fists" put me off. purely cos his was greek or sumfin, and dialing off his head.

lol, you missed a great night, i never thought you could be so easily put off by a silly comment and huge pupils, we did see much more disturbing things at 3D and they seem pretty much normal to you ;)
but in all seriousness, in my opinion you can't really find any friendlier crowd in melbourne other than in sunny/darkbeat parties. even when the internationals didn't play as well as the locals, the vibe was always really great. sure there would be trashbags, but they are always the more classy ones too, from my observations. :D
