For those of you don't get it, back in the days, ships when about to do something that'd mess up the deck (ie going to a battle), sand would be spread on the deck so that clean up would be much easier. |

that's totally not what i was implying, lol. i was talking about sanding down the deck attached to the back of your house before you stain it.
maybe this guy could give you a better idea?
