I just bought serato scratch live, and im having trouble setting it up.
I have 2 technic 1200mk5's
a numark dm1050,
heres the back
a little usb phono plus box, and computer speakers.
So i plugged the tables into the correct spot on the serato box, no problem there.
Now I dont understand the diagram in the booklet, so Im lost as to what to do now.
I tried several things and finaly got the speakers to play the annoying sound off the serato vinyl, but when I dragged a song onto the table it says its playing but the same beeeeeeep sound keeps going, what gives?
Also for those who know serato, it says to press the estimate button when setting it up, and if it goes all the way to the right theres something wrong with the connections, well mine does do that, probably due to where I have the RCA's plugged in?
Obviously Im not the best at explaining things, but I hope someone can please tell me how to set up the rest, id REALLY appreciate it.
Thank you. |

| The outputs labelled "Thru" on the Serato box go into the phono inputs on your mixer and the "Line" outputs go into the line inputs on your mixer. |

Each channel on that mixer has two inputs.
One input is Line level (for cd players/computer etc) and the other is switchable from phono to line.
You just need to make sure that the line output from Serato is connected to the line input on your mixer.
Then make sure your turntables are connected to the inputs of Serato.
Have you ever setup turntables prior to using Serato? |

Since you're using Serato with 1200's, this is how you hook it up.
1.- Make sure the BACK of your mixer is set to PHONO on both channels 1 and 2.
2.- Hook it up like I have it in my award winning pix.
3.- On your mixer... Above the faders... make sure your switches are set to LINE.
YOUR SET!!!
If you wanna play regular vinyl while using serato, just put the switches on the front of the mixer back to PHONO.
If you have any more questions, just ask!

It doesn't say phono because Serato is not just meant to be used with vinyl. You can also use it with CDJs. The THROUGH output, lets the original signal go through regardless weather its a CD or vinyl. That's why you are hearing the bleep. You don't have it hooked up right.
Once you get Serato to work properly, if you flip the switch from PHONO to LINE on top of the mixer, you will hear the beep again. Yes, its weird and confusing because you're thinking that since you're playing on vinyl, you should have the switches set to PHONO, but it's not the case. On other words, the audio is going to come out of the LINE in your mixer and the bleep out of the phono. When you play normal records, it's the opposite.
