RICARDO CASTILLO (TECHNO – MINIMAL TECHNO)
From Being a Full time academic Panist, in middle 2005, Ricardos life made a 360 degree turn around. Making electronic music a part of his daily living.
2006 opened new doors to Castillo, after practicing, playing at underground gigs, and a few clubs around San Salvador, had the opportunity to warm up the gig for Canadian dj/producer/remixer Gabriel Batz.
After playing at several local bars, clubs and beaches, in late 2006 Ricardo decided to start his own promoter "Velvet Promotions", helping the local electronic music scene to grow with "velvet Sessions". Having now in middle 2007 already thrown 3 gigs that have been of most success, and almost starting the first Velvet Sessions in Guatemala.
So far, with only one year and a half of producing and a year of djing, Ricardo already shared decks with important Central American djs (such as Alex Hentze, Rodrigo Valdes, Abraham Saca, Ettore Lentini to name a few); and have helped the electronic music scene in San salvador moving towards the whole Central American region.
Now being a big part in the local electronic music scene and moving forward in djing and producing, Ricardo Castillo`s Minimal Techno & Techno is touching hearts, minds and shaking dancefloors all over.
